“Windows konnte das Installationsprogramm für Modem nicht laden.”

Wer unter Windows XP diese Fehlermeldung bekommt und nicht wie ich gefühlte 4 Stunden in der Telekom-Warteschleife hängen will: Hier gibts die Lösung:

Ursache ist ein fehlerhafter (oder eher veralteter) Eintrag in der Registry.
Ab Windows 2000 heißt das Modem-Installationsprogramm nicht mehr
‘modem.cpl’ sondern ist in der ‘mdminst.dll’ untergebracht. Somit muss
der Eintrag im HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class//Installer32
“mdminst.dll,ClassInstall32″ lauten. (Einfach nach Modem suchen, evtl. die anderen ControlSets auch updaten).
Danach konnte ich wieder Modems hinzufügen und löschen.

    Hallo,
    ich habe dasselbe Problem in Windows xp mit dem nichtgeladenen Istallationsprogramm für das Modem!
    Ich möchte diese Meldung endlich weg haben!
    Können Sie mir das nochmal genau erklären? Ich weiß nämlich nichtmal wie ich anfangen soll, z.B. in die registry zu kommen oder dem HKML!
    Bitte erklären Sie das mir Laien nochmal in kleinen Schritten von Anfang an!

    Start | Ausführen | “regedit” eintippen, Enter.

    Dort in der linken Baumstruktur dann den Eintrag raussuchen, bzw. auch die Suche nutzen.
